HCNY! The H stands for 'happy'. Give abbreviatives for Chinese New Year but leave out the happy infront. What's the problem? Don't you alway hear those wisemen say, do something must do till the end right?

Anyway, this is the 2nd time in my memory that i'm spending CNY in S'pore and not in some winter place (most probably China). Didn't join my parents for their trip to (no prize for guessing correct) China. Haha, don't ask me why my parents like to go there. I think 2 reasons probably are: 1. It's cheap 2. Their english cmi. But this is not to say that China is a sucky place to travel to. The image of stinking toilets which you've to squat no longer applies to the major cities, gone as well is the image of being swarmed by beggars (though i don't mind it actually, makes you feel like a king.. lol). However, its modernisation and prosperity has created an enlarged middle class in record time. This means more domestic travellers= well-known tourist attractions like the Great Wall being more crowded. Also, since China is such a large country, some of em probably never have any contact with the outside world.. so they tend to behave in a manner that outsiders may deem uncivilised. For e.g. they spit on the ground like nobody's business, and they like to cut queue (Like what LJH experienced at Hongky's Ocean Park) and talk at the top of their voice as though everyone has hearing problems.. like em? Haha. But there're alway black sheeps in every community, so we shouldn't jump to a conclusion. Generally speaking, it's a good place to go, be it to shop, go for spa (Shenzhen Queen's Spa) or for sightseeing. So i'd encourage you to go before the value of RenMingBi rises any further.

Anyway, spending CNY here is seriously boring for me. I find visiting distant relatives a chore, since i'd probably end up staring into blankness or trying to amuse myself, mostly at the expense of others, as i don't really know any of em. So this year, i'm not going to visit any of my extended family, apart from my grandparents and immediate uncles/aunties. What about the hongbao money? C'mon! They don't give much to near-strangers! Anyway, i'm not that desperate to trade 1-2hrs of my time for that $4 or something. But that still beats the $0.50/hr NS is paying NS-men huh.. lol. More impetus for NS-men to visit relatives i guess. Haha. As a result of my self-imposed isolation, i'm flushed with spare time and am typing crap here now. Perhaps i should go tidy up my stuff huh.. Make a to-do list.. Or maybe go read the Bible? Haha. Hey.. I'm very pious okay?! lol.. Self-praise.

And oh, the class gathering on Friday was fun. Too bad for LJH and LJB! lol. Hopefully if time permits, we'd have another one soon. Till then, take care!

It's near 12 now and I'm working tmr. I should be sleeping. But no, i'm still online. And no, i'm not playing any computer game. I'm in a dilemma now.

Screw N T I (no spacing in between). If you haven't know, it's a 'company' that practices MLM-Multi-Level Marketing. But apparently, it doesn't earn the bulk, if any, of its revenues from the sales of its products (which are redundant and unreasonably priced items like spa?!), but from recruitment fees. In a nutshell, it's basically earning based on recruitment and the products are just a front for the 'company'.

The problem comes when one of my friend got talked into it, and parted with like 1k+. He eventually got convinced by me and my other friend that this is an unethical busienss (you drag more pple into the shit so that you can earn enough to cover your losses) and essentially a scam. But apparently, he got talked into it again and got his 'faith' renewed.

According to him, N T I has now built/bought a country club and it's opening on the 26th January! They're invited for the opening ceremony! And for $200, they can become members.. which will costs $1000 when it's opened to the public.. A discount of $800 the management claims.

I did my own search online using Google. The country club appears to be called Morington Country Club. And it has been in existent since 2004, built by a company called Saniton. It's partially completed though, in its first stage of construction, with only a cafeteria and a gym (N T I also claimed that it's in the 1st stage of construction). Entries on forums dating back to 2004 tell of users complaining of the bad shape of the gym equipments and the dire situation of the 'club'. It also appears that the membership fees then was advertised to be $500 (now link this to the $1000 fee that's purportedly going to be sold to public buyers by N T I).

Just by the information stated above, in your opinion, is it a scam? It is to me. I think this $200 membership shit is probably a sign that they're going to run away soon, and is one of the last-ditched attempts to further milk money from undiscerning individuals.

It's a shame that the authorities and the general public have not been alerted to this ongoing fraud. As of this moment, i'm contemplating the possibility of calling the toilet paper and informing them of this issue. For now, I've identified a few important 'guidelines' that i'd need to observe should i adopt this course of action. Namely,

1. I'd have to get my friend's (the one who became a member) consent and ensure that they would not be able to trace anything back to him

2. The toilet paper would have to be informed before 26th, which is the 'grand opening' of the 'country club'. This is a godsend opportunity should they seek to delve deeper into it.

3. I'd have to do some homework on the company's doings and background so as to be able to convince the toilet paper into delving deeper into it.

I'd love to expose N T I to the public, but i realised my perspective may be skewed or limited and hence affecting my decision. Therefore, i seriously and urgently appeal for any feedback. And to JB, since you're the only person i know of who wrote to any papers, have you got any advice should i sought to contact the toilet paper.

Time is of the essence.

These people should not, and will not, go unpunished if they're indeed in the wrong.

Yesterday, I went to the Ubi Comfort Driving Centre to take my Basic Theory Driving Test..

well, it was quite surprising that the entire lot of 40+ candidates right.. i think only 4-5 others are of my age group? I see alot of middle-aged men & women instead.

There was also the odd Caucasian who took to convert his foreign driving license.. Foreign talent in SG want to drive car too one you know..

And ALOT of bangras taking it too. Seeing them produce work permit, passport etc for verification, can tell is their employers want them to become drivers for work.

about the test, it was a breeze. Really. if you taking it soon (Razak u these few days also right?) don't bother go read it thru so many many times. i went thru it once and it was during the Chelsea's match too.. it was sufficient liao. they merely tested alot basics and common sense stuff, but you also must memorise certain critical info lah..

like bus lane hours, cannot stop within 9m of bus stop, 6m of traffic junction, and of course some basic signs etc. and of yeah, i think this sure come out everytime.

car turning right in a junction must always give way no matter wad.. then u read the roundabout one also. that's it. you can walk out in 15mins altho' the stipulated duration is 50mins. instant results once you end the test. the lcd touch screen display not that responsive though. abit slow.

Haha.. More like SGH's newest demented soul. That's the nickname my friend and i cooked up for this beggar at the mrt exit. Intellectually challenged, lunatic, demented beggar, who as the nick suggested, begs passerbys for 1 dollar. If you're lucky/unlucky enough to bump into him (the traits: intellectually challenged/demented, are visibly manifested on his face), he would come up to you hold up a dollar coin, and say: "One dollar". According to my friend, this shows that the demented soul is actually quite smart too. B'cos he straight away ask for 1 dollar. Imagine those beggars who never specify any sum, they'd probably get a lot lesser than him.. Therefore the 1-dollar man is just an intellectually challenged turd, but not an intellectually disabled jackass! Wow~ Beggar wanna-bes out there better take note huh!

Anyway, the interesting part is when you reject him. From our 'studies', he would not have any eventful reaction if the other party appears scared/intimidated/to have no capacity to sponsor this parasite/genuinely don't give 2 hoots about him... oh, or if they're females. But to males who appears to have the money for him to loot and don't seem to take him seriously and brush him off, he would take a few steps away then shout something in your ears.. which is bloody irritating. During our first encounter, i waved him off and in return got the retard shouting "One dolllaaarrrr". Then today on the way to work, my friend and i spotted him way ahead. Today's his turn.. Haha, so he walked closer to the dollar-man and turned him down by saying "Don't want." The answer was a piercing, equally retard-sounding shout: "Don't wannnttt". Knn. Another 'Parrot'... Another of my pet peeves... The 2 malay ladies behind me became so intimidated like they've just saw a moaning ghoul, which they did, and they hurried past us and the ghoul... lol. Amusing sight.

Someday he's gonna get it from us. No one should condone the existence of such a pathetic parasite who only exists to loot and harass the public. No one should also be dumb enough to patronise him and hence encourage his bad habit and undesirable behaviour. But seriously.. if you're one of those with loads of time to spare, i'd recommend you make a trip down to outram mrt station to have a first-hand encounter. It's like sighting S'pore's very own Loch Ness Monster. lol. Both are similarly elusive (only 2 sightings so far) and both are monsters.

some ppl mentioned that we might be able to come out on Hari Raya but not confirmed. some ppl also say that PM Lee's son is going in tmr or the day after cos he retook his NAPFA, but also not confirmed. rumours aside, the fact is those who are going in are in for some serious shit (me included), but i seriouslly hope that we'll get used to it soon enough. as for the rest of u faggots/mofos/gays who are going in 4 mths time, better train hard if not you die. muahahahaha.

Where's the feeling of nationalism that the Singapore goverment keeps harping on? Where's the pride in the Singapore Armed Forces? After all as what the advertisements have proclaimed, aren't we one of the best, if not the supreme armed forces in SE Asia? Should we not feel proud that we are able to be a part of such an elite force!!

Look! The planes and helicopters in the Air Force are among the most sophiscated in the whole world today. F16, apache, the list goes on.. The toilet paper and State's Times even published relevant articles which gave us an insight into the unparalleled prowess of these war machines and the massive scale of destruction they are capable of! Being well-informed of the Air Force's immense capabilities, all the more we should take pride in them though these planes are stationed in places as far away as South America.

Ahhh, the SingaporeNavy also reign supreme on the seas. Though not as powerful as the Air Force, the Navy have developed stealth frigates that are hithero unheard of in SE Asia! As of the moment, the Singapore Navy already has a imposing fleet of three (or is it two?) such vessels that rules the oceans! With awe-inspiring names such as the RSS Courageous, should we not feel equally proud of the Navy too?

Last but not the least, we've the Land Forces. C'mon, surely you've seen the Army21 advertisement, with the tanks, chinooks and troops attacking a enemy outpost, guided by intelligence provided by a satellite. Well, we should not doubt that the Armed Forces has at its disposal, a satellite that is on par with GPS of the Americans and the recent launched Galileo of the Europeans should we? And for the observant audience, the fact that the tanks shown in the advertisement have guns, not cannon turrets, should not be perceived as a sign of weakness.. It's more suited for combat in terrain found in SE Asia, as purported by the Armed Farces, oops.. Forces.

So in the face of such overwhelming and credible evidence, we as Singaporeans, should hold our heads high! Males entering NS should take pride in the fact that they are about to join such a prestigous instituion and should also look forward to the fulfillment of their sacred responsibilty to the MotherLand. I'm well awared that some may be slightly disturbed by the seemingly high number of causalties among the NS-men. But sadness, worries and anxiousness should not be the feelings that we associate with these happenings. Rather, we should be happy and consoled as we know that such worthy men, who made the ultimate sacrifice for the Motherland, will be honoured by the Almighty God and go to Heaven and be rewarded with countless vir...! Hence, we should look upon them as role models and strive to emulate them!

Therefore NS-men, during your 2 years in the Army, do not slack or be distracted by unworthy things. You must push forward, chiong in everything you do, volunteer for every tasks.. be it to wash toilets or find a coin in the field! In your sparetime, clean your bunk with the toilet paper provided! Let not a speck of dust ruin the name and honour of your platoon!

All of us have only one shot at life. So let's make full use of these 2 years and not live to regret! For it's in the Army where "boys become men, and men become heroes" (like those who made the ultimate sacrifice)!!!
