March/April BMT intake is coming again! Woo~ Upside is we can finally see our batch's poly kias suffer in NS. Yay! (Provided they dun get pes C/E/F) Downside is that means work for instructors like me.

Gonna go back to Khatib Camp again, see people i only want to see dead and get involved in more political backstabbing. Yes, political backstabbing. No typo. Even within my present pathetically small div HQ building it has already happened between the various branches, nt to mention in Khatib Camp where the overall HQ is and there're more eyes watching us. This grp of regulars, especially the WOSPEC, are just waiting for a chance to discredit one another so as to gain an upperhand in getting promoted. This is probably less common among commissioned officers, as their rice bowl is more or less guaranteed.
Better still, our OIC just informed us that the intake strength shd be increasing from current 240 to about 300, when 1 of the regular spec has been posted out (no replacement yet), another going for surgery that's gonna reward him with a 6 weeks MC and a handful more still continuing to chao geng, eat snake, sleep in bunk and complain (not joking type, or talking bird language) that they do a lot of work.
Perfect storm brewing... Johor is gonna get flooded again.
Saw Benlim's post on the changes in our uniformed organisation.. read these changes in the forums too.. Speculation is rife and all, abt increasing annual leave to 21, rise in pay thru'out all levels and the much-hyped Corporal First Class (CFC - chelsea? lol...)
"The rank of Corporal First Class is currently being implemented. It will be awarded to deserving Corporals who are unable to be promoted to the rank of Third Sergeant due to establishment requirements."
Some claimed it is already in practice.. approx 20% of the better-performing CPLs getting it in the unit etc.
It marks a return to the 90s when Private First Class and CFC were still in vogue until the restructuring came about. It looked like this:
It's kinda sensible too.. cos NSFs yearn for recognition and often underpaid to do jobs that are higher level.. NSF Sgts doing the work of regular Sgts, the latter doing the work of WOs.. officers etc.. the list rattles on. My vocation also had to 'downsize' after almost all were found to qualify for 3SGs in the end w/o even breaking into sweat.
Some also say the recruits' $450 pay is implemented already. Others say it'll be Feb/April 2007. Speculation speculation speculation. To the extent some said the directives & stuff were all out.. just a matter of time, whereas others alleged the wise ol' s.a.f. couldn't be so muddle-headed and allow such talk undermine its image.. after all, the reduction in NSF liability from 2.5 to 2 years came like a thunderbolt out of the blue.
CFC rank will definitely get arnd $30-$40 more than the average CPL. that's all we know for now.
Meanwhile, more changes have been implemented as say goodbye to ur Skeletal Battle Order (SBO) and 'x-mas tree' field pack. The Load Bearing Vest (LBV) and a revamped, more spacious field pack already being put into use with the newer batches of recruits..

long time no post everyone. just participated in today's A.D.O.C inauguration parade and i didn't know our mini,ster for def could be so long winded in his speech (i almost died while standing still -_-")
anyway, happy new year to all the peeps i haven seen in a while, including those that i wont see anytime soon lol. i would be going away on an overseas exercise soon at the end of jan so i wont be around (again), and that means i would miss the EPL matches during that period. damn. and just when man u was on its way to a glorious season. sob. (hopefully they dont screw up no more)
in the meantime, has anyone wondered what is love every once in a while? well, i've been to this site and it sure gave me some food for thought lol.
Haha. Swee, my sis told me that uncle although is damn strict, but is quite nice. Tho if she's there, he'll prob let us in. So i shall retract all the comments i made about him. haha. Guess i will try again when the time is ripe and the stars are aligned. Maybe this friday? Hahaha.
